Jung-gu District Office in Seoul (Mayor Kim Gil-seong) will hold the Jung-gu Residents' Walking Event "Walking Together to Namsan" at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, the 2nd of next month, at the National Theater.
The walking event is open to anyone interested in walking exercise. Participants will gather at 8:30 a.m. to warm up with preparatory exercises, and the main walking event will begin at 8:50 a.m. Following last year, the event will be hosted by Mr. Jo Young-gu.
The walking course starts from the National Theater Culture Plaza, passes through Seokhojeong, turns back at Pildong Shelter, and returns to the National Theater, covering a 4.5 km section of the Namsan North Circular Road. This year’s course has been shortened from the previous 7 km to allow more residents to participate without burden. At the turnaround point, raffle tickets will be distributed, so be sure to complete the entire course.
Along the course, fun events suitable for people of all ages have been prepared. At Seokhojeong, there will be a rock-paper-scissors game corner called "Catch the Namsan Tiger," and a "Polaroid Photo Shoot" will be available to create joyful memories while walking together.
Additionally, if participants post photos of the walking event on social media (SNS) with the hashtags '#2024 Jung-gu Residents Walking Event #Walking Together to Namsan #MySideJunggu,' they will be entered into a draw after the event to win prizes such as one cake exchange voucher from Chosun Hotel and 30 Starbucks Americano coupons. Completing the walking course will also earn 1,000 points in the Jung-gu Health Mileage program.
On the day of the event, various booths promoting Jung-gu’s projects will be set up at the National Theater Culture Plaza starting from 8 a.m. In collaboration with Seoul City, a children’s experience booth will be operated to create a "Sustainable Namsan Together."
After completing the walking course and returning, a music performance will take place. Popular trot singer Kim Na-hee and a mixed vocal ensemble will perform congratulatory shows to liven up the event. Following this, a raffle drawing for prizes distributed at the turnaround point will be held, offering generous gifts such as stylers, robot vacuum cleaners, hotel accommodation vouchers, air purifiers, hotel meal vouchers, and electric pressure cookers.
The event is sponsored by ▲CJ CheilJedang ▲Lotte Department Store Main Branch ▲Lotte Duty Free Myeongdong Main Branch ▲Lotte Hotel Seoul ▲Saemaeul Geumgo Jung-gu Branch Managers’ Council ▲Woori Bank Jung-gu Branch ▲Eunjujeong (inside Bangsan Market) ▲Westin Chosun Hotel Seoul ▲Woori Card Woori WON Pro Volleyball Team ▲Green Printing ▲Sungwoo Sound & Information Communication Co., Ltd.
