Goyang City Successfully Concludes the '2024 Gyeonggi Goyang Craft Exhibition'

Gyeonggi Craft Cooperative Promotes Goyang City's Excellent Crafts... Over 1,500 Visitors

Crafts exhibited at the '2024 Gyeonggi Goyang Craft Exhibition.'

The "2024 Gyeonggi Goyang Craft Exhibition," held with the active support of Goyang Special City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Lee Dong-hwan), successfully concluded on the 21st.

The Gyeonggi Craft Cooperative (Chairman Jeon Jin-sook) announced on the 24th that it held the exhibition from the 16th to the 21st at the Insa Art Center in Insadong, Jongno-gu, Seoul, to widely promote excellent crafts embodying the history and culture of Goyang City, Gyeonggi Province, and to foster the development of the craft cultural industry.

A total of 36 artists participated in this exhibition, showcasing works in six fields including woodcraft, ceramic craft, metal craft, textile craft, and paper craft.

This exhibition served as an important platform to introduce crafts reflecting the history and tradition of Gyeonggi Province and Goyang City both domestically and internationally, and provided a stepping stone for the continuous development of the craft cultural industry, attracting high interest from domestic and foreign visitors.

A representative of the Gyeonggi Craft Cooperative stated, "During the exhibition period, about 1,300 domestic visitors and 200 foreign visitors, totaling approximately 1,500 attendees, visited," adding, "It was an opportunity to widely promote the excellent crafts of Goyang City, Gyeonggi Province, which blend tradition and modernity, both at home and abroad." It was also tentatively reported that purchase consultations worth about 50 million KRW took place during the exhibition period.

Jeon Jin-sook, Chairman of the Gyeonggi Craft Cooperative, said, "This exhibition, held for the first time in Insadong this year, achieved great results with the support of Goyang City," and added, "Next year, we will introduce works by more artists and expand the scale of the exhibition to further broaden the base of the craft cultural industry in Goyang City, Gyeonggi Province."
