The city of Suwon in Gyeonggi Province has approved an apartment remodeling housing construction project plan for the first time.
On the 24th, Suwon City announced that it recently approved the "Shinseong Sinan Ssangyong Jinhung Apartment (963-2, Yeongtong-dong, Yeongtong-gu) Remodeling Housing Project Plan."
Shinseong Sinan Ssangyong Jinhung Apartment, completed in 1997, consists of 16 buildings with 1 basement floor and 16 to 20 above-ground floors, totaling 1,616 households. After remodeling, it will expand to 4 basement floors and 18 to 21 above-ground floors, 19 buildings, and 1,858 households. This is an increase of 242 households.
For the remodeling, Shinseong Sinan Ssangyong Jinhung Apartment established an association in December 2020. After reviews by the joint (landscape, architecture, traffic) committee and the urban planning committee, the project plan approval was applied for in June of this year, receiving project approval 3 years and 10 months after the association was established.
To actively support remodeling, Suwon City reorganized the "Suwon City Apartment Remodeling Basic Plan" in December 2022 to reflect changing conditions.
Currently, a total of 8 apartment complexes in Suwon City are pursuing remodeling projects.
