Park Gang-su, Mapo-gu Mayor, "We Will Do Our Best to Revitalize Mapo's 11 Major Commercial Areas"
Mapo-gu (District Mayor Park Gang-su) is promoting the ‘Dangol Street Project’ in collaboration with Kakao to support the digital transformation of small business owners in the Bangulnaegil Alley Shopping District to revitalize the commercial area.
The ‘Dangol Street Project’ is a new win-win business by Kakao, where Kakao employees and professional tutors visit local shopping districts to support small business owners in utilizing Kakao services and digital transformation, helping them communicate with customers online conveniently.
At the agreement ceremony held on the 23rd in the Mapo-gu Office’s main conference room, representatives from Mapo-gu, Kakao, Kakao Impact, the Small Enterprise and Market Service, and Bangulnaegil Alley Shopping District attended and signed a five-party agreement on the ‘Dangol Street Project’ to pledge cooperation.
According to the agreement, Mapo-gu will actively promote the Bangulnaegil Alley Shopping District, while Kakao, Kakao Impact, and the Small Enterprise and Market Service will provide various digital benefits, financial support, and events.
Additionally, the Bangulnaegil Alley Shopping District will discover small business owners to participate in the project with the Bangulnaegil Revitalization Promotion Committee and conduct various events.
Small business owners participating in the Dangol Street Project will receive support for KakaoTalk channel marketing message sending costs (3 million KRW per commercial district annually, 300,000 KRW per individual store annually), promotional materials, one-on-one on-site training on channel operation and Kakao service usage.
Moreover, Kakao will hold online and offline events to activate the representative KakaoTalk channel of the Bangulnaegil commercial district and promote the commercial district and participating stores within KakaoMap.
Mapo-gu expects the ‘Dangol Street Project’ to promote the digital transformation of the local commercial area, enhance the competitiveness of small business owners, and contribute to revitalizing the local economy.
Park Gang-su, Mayor of Mapo-gu, said, “I am very pleased to be able to help small business owners together with Kakao, which is used by the entire nation,” and added, “Following Bangulnaegil, we will continue to cooperate with Kakao to revitalize Mapo’s 11 major commercial districts, including Hongdae Red Road, Hapjeong Haneulgil, and Dohwa Flower Road, and make our best efforts.”
