Gyeonggi Province announced on the 23rd that it held an explanatory session for participants of the '2024 Gyeonggi Northern Job Fair,' which took place on the 22nd at KINTEX in Goyang City, to expand public consensus on the establishment of the Gyeonggi Northern Special Autonomous Province.
Son Kyung-sik, chairman of the Public-Private Joint Promotion Committee for the Establishment of the Gyeonggi Northern Special Autonomous Province, explained at the session the issues of low growth and the lack of quality jobs in northern Gyeonggi. He emphasized the necessity of establishing the Gyeonggi Northern Special Autonomous Province as a measure to awaken the growth potential of northern Gyeonggi and create new employment opportunities.
A job seeker stated, "I agree that the establishment of the Gyeonggi Northern Special Autonomous Province is the most certain policy to attract excellent companies to the northern Gyeonggi region and create quality jobs," adding, "I hope that the establishment of the Gyeonggi Northern Special Autonomous Province will serve as a catalyst for attracting many excellent companies to expand youth employment in northern Gyeonggi."
Meanwhile, Gyeonggi Province is promoting various communication methods such as special lectures and explanatory sessions by directly visiting residents from all walks of life to broaden public consensus on the establishment of the Gyeonggi Northern Special Autonomous Province. On the 29th, a resident briefing session will be held at the Youth Training Center in Paju City; on November 4th, a seminar with local universities in northern Gyeonggi will be held at Shinhan University; and on November 8th, a communication meeting related to the development of northern Gyeonggi will be held with members of the Northern Gyeonggi City and County Residents' Autonomy Council at the northern government office building of Gyeonggi Province.
