Jeonbuk Jangsu Cultural Center Holds Exhibition to Commemorate 30th Anniversary of Its Founding

Exhibition of Works from Cultural School and Cultural Arts Promotion, 23-25th

Jangsu-gun, Jeonbuk announced on the 23rd that it will hold a cultural school and cultural arts promotion exhibition commemorating the 30th anniversary of the founding of the Jangsu Cultural Center at the Hannuri Jeondang exhibition hall for three days from the 23rd to the 25th.

According to the county, the Jangsu Cultural Center began operating a local cultural school in 1994. It provided local residents with opportunities for diverse cultural and artistic education such as calligraphy, ceramic crafts, and natural dyeing, creating opportunities for cultural enjoyment through self-development. Currently, it operates cultural school courses.

The cultural school courses consist of various fields including Minhwa painting, wood carving, Korean dance, poetry theater troupe, cooking classes, storytelling, and humanities lectures. In addition, the cultural arts promotion project supports various creative artistic activities such as exhibitions, performances, documentary production, and book publishing, serving as a foundation for local artists to showcase their talents.

This exhibition features works from the cultural school’s Minhwa and wood carving classes, as well as selected works from the cultural arts promotion project including Jangsu Handmade Story, the Jangsu branch of the Korea Photographers Association, Jeonbuk Gaya Cultural Center, and artists Kim Yeoul, Kim Myeonghui, Go Gangyeong, Lee Suyeon, and Lee Jaeseong.

Han Byeongtae, director of the Jangsu Cultural Center, said, "I hope this exhibition of works created by students who have grown through cultural school courses and refined by professional artists will be an occasion to share the value of our region’s culture and life."

Choi Hunsik, the county governor, stated, "I hope this cultural arts exhibition will be a meaningful opportunity for residents to reconsider the value of local culture and tradition and to pass it on. The county will also do its best to discover diverse programs to promote the culture of Jangsu-gun."
