Seosan City in Chungnam announced that the "2024 Seosan Birdland Migratory Bird Festival" will be held at Cheonsuman for two days from the 26th to the 27th.


The city plans to offer a variety of ecological experiences, including a winter migratory bird watching tour, bird carving activities, a bird observation center, and programs from the Wildlife Rehabilitation Education Center.


Additionally, various participatory programs such as making Sotdae (traditional wooden totems), crafting migratory bird keychains, and creating migratory bird art pieces will also take place.


Visitors will have the opportunity to taste local specialties such as chapssaltteok (glutinous rice cake), hangwa (traditional Korean sweets), and gulppang (oyster bread), prepared by residents living near Cheonsuman.

To satisfy the senses of visitors, the Seosan Birdland Exhibition Hall will feature various performances, including an ecological classical music concert by the Seosan branch of the Korean Music Association and magic shows by magician Han Younghun.


The National West Coast Climate and Air Center is participating in the festival for the second consecutive year, preparing a variety of hands-on events, and a special ecological photography lecture will be held by a leading camera manufacturer.


Kim Jonggil, head of the Seosan Birdland Office, stated, "We are preparing to welcome guests with a variety of programs," and added, "We will do our best to successfully operate the nation's only winter migratory bird-related event."


Meanwhile, as of the 18th, about 120,000 winter migratory birds have arrived at Cheonsuman. The city expects that the diverse winter migratory birds will capture the attention of visitors attending the festival.
