Signing of Memorandum of Understanding for ESG Practice and Joint Cooperation
Hwaseong City in Gyeonggi Province has partnered with global character specialist company Toobit Co., Ltd. to develop content for 'Botanic Garden Hwaseong.'
On the 23rd, Hwaseong City signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for 'ESG Practice and Joint Cooperation' with Toobit at the Hwaseong City Living Culture Creation Center. The event was attended by Hwaseong Mayor Jeong Myeong-geun and Toobit co-CEOs Kim Young-hwa and Eom Seo-young.

This MOU aims to spread environmental, social, and governance (ESG) values by linking 'Botanic Garden Hwaseong' with character intellectual property (IP).
Through this MOU, the two organizations will promote ▲ free use of Toobit's 'Hanni and the Wild Woods' intellectual property (IP) ▲ development of programs such as nature conservation activities, environmental education, and special exhibitions using 'Hanni and the Wild Woods' content ▲ corporate sponsorships for ESG realization.
In particular, both parties plan to transform key spaces of 'Botanic Garden Hwaseong' into healing spaces that convey the importance of nature and environmental protection by utilizing 'Hanni and the Wild Woods,' a representative character animation produced and owned by Toobit.
Toobit is a global character specialist company that has developed nature-friendly content for over 20 years. Its flagship work, 'Hanni and the Wild Woods,' is the first Korean animation to be broadcast nationwide in the United States through the Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD) Kids & Family channel.
The city plans to create exhibition spaces with storytelling using animation characters in major areas such as the botanical garden and gardens established as part of 'Botanic Garden Hwaseong.' Alongside this, it intends to plan programs for practicing ESG management linked to 'Botanic Garden Hwaseong' through corporate sponsorship and cooperation.
Hwaseong Mayor Jeong Myeong-geun said, "This cooperation will not only strengthen the plant-themed exhibition, viewing, and experience functions pursued by 'Botanic Garden Hwaseong' but also serve as an opportunity to practice sustainable development. We will strive to exert influence in spreading ESG management nationwide for the residential environment of future generations."
