Minister Oh Young-joo Listens to On-site Difficulties of Companies Affected by Unsettled Payments from T-Mef
The Ministry of SMEs and Startups announced that Minister Oh Young-joo held a meeting on the 23rd at the Seoul Jungbu Center of the Small Enterprise and Market Service with companies affected by delayed settlements from TMON and WEMAKEPRICE.
Since the TMON and WEMAKEPRICE incident escalated at the end of July, the Ministry has prepared liquidity support measures to alleviate the management difficulties of affected companies and has actively listened to on-site opinions more than 10 times, continuously making improvements.
Minister Oh Young-joo of the Ministry of SMEs and Startups is listening to the difficulties of affected companies at the 'Timon·Wemakeprice Unsettled Payment Victim Companies Meeting' held on the 23rd at the Seoul Jungbu Center of the Small Enterprise and Market Service in Jongno-gu, Seoul.
However, despite the Ministry's policy efforts, some on-site opinions from affected companies indicated that further improvements were needed. This meeting was organized for Minister Oh to directly hear voices from the field and to identify additional areas for improvement.
SME A, which attended the meeting, shared a case, saying, “Currently, sales channel support is provided only to small business owners, making it difficult to switch to other e-commerce platforms,” and requested the government to lower the barriers to support. Other companies also conveyed various difficulties felt on-site in areas such as finance and sales channels to the Ministry.
Minister Oh stated, “The Ministry of SMEs and Startups has made efforts in various aspects such as finance, sales channels, and system improvements for the swift normalization of affected companies’ management, but it was clear that there are still areas that need improvement on-site,” adding, “We will listen carefully to the opinions from the field and strive to prepare support measures that affected companies can feel as soon as possible.”
