Goyang Industry Promotion Agency Smart Mobility Support Company Wins Award at the 'Global AI Challenge'

Awarded at AI Competition Held in United Arab Emirates
SierraBase, the Only Domestic Company to Rank 3rd

Director Kim Jun-bae of Sierra Base Co., Ltd. is giving a presentation at the competition venue.

Goyang Special City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Lee Dong-hwan) and the Goyang Industrial Promotion Agency (Director Han Dong-gyun) supported Sierra Base Co., Ltd. through the smart mobility project, and the company won 3rd place as the only Korean company at the ‘DMCCxAGCC Global AI Challenge’ held in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

According to Goyang City on the 23rd, the ‘DMCCxAGCC Global AI Challenge’ is an event jointly planned by the Dubai Multi Commodities Centre (DMCC), an economic free zone under the Dubai Department of Economy, and the global accelerator (AGCC). The competition took place over four days from the 13th to the 16th, with about 600 companies from more than 40 countries worldwide participating. This competition is a side event of the IT & startup exhibition held simultaneously with ‘GITEX,’ the largest IT exhibition in the Middle East.

Sierra Base Co., Ltd. (CEO Kim Song-hyun) is an AI safety diagnosis company based on drones capable of smart monitoring at construction sites.

The company participated in the competition with its safety diagnosis platform ‘SIRIUS,’ which combines 3D drone control and AI, and won 3rd place as the only Korean company.

Kim Jun-bae, director of Sierra Base, said, “By combining AI monitoring technology with 3D mapping drones, we have been recognized for innovation by drastically reducing the cost and time of facility safety inspections. We will use this opportunity to expand the supply of SIRIUS not only in the Middle East but worldwide. We are grateful to Goyang City and the Promotion Agency for supporting our business.”

Han Dong-gyun, director of the Promotion Agency, said, “We are pleased that a company supported by this year’s smart mobility support project has won an overseas award. The smart mobility support project is a program that supports discovering and attracting innovative smart mobility companies, product development support, and pioneering global market entry. This year, the Promotion Agency selected and supported a total of three companies.
