Korea Western Power announced that it will share methods for establishing safety and health management systems to prevent serious accidents at small partner companies with fewer than 50 employees.
On the 22nd, Korea Western Power visited the headquarters of Cheongsan Engineering in Cheonan, Chungnam, to inspect the safety and health management system and listen to any difficulties.
Following last year's pilot project, Korea Western Power has been running a "Safety and Health Management System Support Program" for partner companies with fewer than 50 employees since July this year.
This year, the company selected 20 partner companies through an open call among those with experience participating in power plant planned maintenance or outsourced maintenance, and is supporting them in establishing safety and health management systems.
Specifically, the company provides support in areas such as "identifying the safety management status of participating companies," "transferring risk assessment techniques," "customized safety consulting," "diagnosing compliance with the Serious Accidents Punishment Act," and "special safety training for employees and executives."

In particular, the focus is on delivering workplace-specific accident prevention techniques and effectively establishing the requirements set by the "Act on the Punishment of Serious Accidents" (Serious Accidents Punishment Act).
Lee Hyunwoo, Head of Safety Management at Korea Western Power, said, "To create a safe workplace, both Korea Western Power and its partner companies must actively engage in industrial accident prevention activities," adding, "We will continue thorough, field-oriented management to raise the safety awareness of all workers at our sites."
