Chuncheon Jihye Forest to Host 'Retirement Preparation Information Fair' on the 30th
15 Chuncheon Area Retirement Preparation Support Center Councils Participate

Chuncheon City, Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province (Mayor Yuk Dong-han) announced on the 23rd that the Chuncheon Wisdom Forest Foundation (Chairman Shin Yong-jun) will hold the “2024 Chuncheon Retirement Preparation Festival” under the theme “Chuncheon Citizens, Connecting the Future” on the 30th to provide information necessary for retirement preparation and improve awareness of old age for Chuncheon citizens.

This event includes ▲ a seminar to promote the advance directives system ▲ operation of permanent promotional booths with 15 member organizations of the Chuncheon Regional Retirement Preparation Support Center council ▲ an opening ceremony attended by related organizations and group leaders ▲ and various performances by cultural and artistic clubs supported by Chuncheon Wisdom Forest as side events.

In particular, the seminar to promote the advance directives system, held from 10 a.m. in the large conference room on the 3rd floor of the Toegye-dong Administrative Welfare Center in Chuncheon City, will feature presentations by Won Hye-young, co-representative of the Well-Dying Cultural Movement (former National Assembly member), and Professor Yoo Ji-young of Hallym University’s Institute for Aging Society on the importance of a super-aged society and the advance medical directive system. For reference, Chuncheon Wisdom Forest completed the registration of over 4,000 advance medical directives this year.

At the permanent promotional booths operated by the 15 organizations of the Chuncheon Regional Retirement Preparation Support Center council, expert consultations and participatory experience programs will be provided in the four major areas of retirement preparation: finance, health, leisure, and interpersonal relationships.

Additionally, as a side event, various performances by cultural and artistic clubs supported by Chuncheon Wisdom Forest will be held, and a raffle will be conducted to provide small prizes to citizens attending the event.

Shin Yong-jun, Chairman of Chuncheon Wisdom Forest, said, “We prepared this event so that Chuncheon citizens can thoroughly prepare for retirement together with the 15 cooperative organizations of the Chuncheon Regional Retirement Preparation Council,” adding, “As we enter the first year of a super-aged society, we hope for much interest and participation in this special journey to contemplate and prepare for our collective future.”
