The Yeoju City Council of the National Unification Advisory Council conducted the '2024 Youth Peaceful Unification Field Study' on the 18th in the Cheorwon DMZ area. The Yeosu City Council of the National Unification Advisory Council (Chair Kim Young-ja, hereinafter referred to as the National Unification Advisory Council Yeosu City Council) announced on the 23rd that it conducted the '2024 Youth Peaceful Unification Field Trip' in the Cheorwon DMZ area on the 18th.
This field trip was attended by about 100 people including students and teachers from Yeoju Jeil Middle School and advisory committee members, visiting the Second Tunnel, Cheorwon Peace Observatory, Woljeong-ri Station, and conducting on-site unification education.
Students of Yeoju Jeil Middle School, who conducted education on peace, security, and patriotism by visiting the War Memorial last spring, confirmed the reality of the country's division firsthand through this DMZ field trip and reaffirmed the necessity of peaceful unification.
The advisory committee members who participated in the field trip encouraged the students, who calmly and seriously engaged in the schedule despite the rainy weather, hoping they would grow into future talents leading the era of unification.
Meanwhile, the National Unification Advisory Council Yeosu City Council is conducting youth peaceful unification field trips, support projects for North Korean defectors' settlement, and the Yeoju Peaceful Unification Concert, and is planning a kimchi-making event with families of North Korean defectors on November 9.
