YouTuber Lee Jin-ho raises 'false statement' allegations against Jessi
"The perpetrator contacted Jessi to reveal identity and contact information"
"Claimed to have known the perpetrator's identity before police investigation"
Singer Jessi has been embroiled in controversy over allegedly ignoring fan assault and was investigated by the police, but suspicions have arisen that her statement claiming "I do not know the perpetrator" was false.
On the 22nd, YouTuber Lee Jin-ho, who runs the YouTube channel 'Entertainment Vice President,' released a video titled "Jessi's Lie Exposed. Why Did the Assault Perpetrator Contact Her?" on his channel.
Previously, on the 29th of last month in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, a minor fan of Jessi spotted her and requested a photo, but was assaulted by members of her entourage. At the time, Jessi witnessed the assault but left the scene, sparking controversy over "ignoring fan assault." Later, during the police investigation, Jessi claimed, "I have no relation to the perpetrator. He is a Chinese friend of Koala, a producer close to me," and insisted, "I met the perpetrator for the first time that day."

In response, Lee Jin-ho stated, "While Jessi may not have actually known perpetrator A, the people who would know A best after he left the country following the incident are producer Koala and Jessi." He continued, "When Jessi firmly raised the issue with Koala, A contacted Jessi to provide his identity and contact information," asserting that Jessi knew about perpetrator A.
Lee Jin-ho claimed that Jessi learned of A's identity after JTBC's 'Incident Chief' report but before the police investigation, adding, "There is growing interest in whether Jessi submitted this information to the investigative authorities."
Due to the controversy, Jessi appeared at the Gangnam Police Station on the 16th as a suspect and was questioned. A total of four people, including Jessi, the producer, and the male assault perpetrator, have been accused and booked. At the time, when reporters asked Jessi, "Do you admit to the charges?" she replied, "I hope the person who hit [the fan] is found quickly and punished. I will tell everything I know." She then bowed her head, saying, "I met the perpetrator for the first time that day" and apologized, "I am very sorry to the victim." She did not respond to the question, "Why didn't you actively stop it?"
