11st Launches 'Ai Feed' for AI-Powered Product Recommendations

11st Street announced on the 23rd that it has launched 'Ai Feed,' a generative artificial intelligence (AI)-based shopping communication service.


Ai Feed introduces key information about recommended products by AI merchandisers (MDs) for eight different categories in the form of social networking service (SNS) feeds, and offers real-time responses to customer inquiries.

To achieve this, 11st Street directly implemented AI MDs using generative AI technology. The AI MDs analyze sales rankings and customer reviews to select trending products. At the same time, they analyze detailed product descriptions and customer reviews to summarize product features and deliver these summaries to customers in the form of 'feeds.' Customers can explore shopping content through these feeds.


Seol Geon-ho, Head of AI at 11st Street, said, "We aim to transform the difficulties of finding good products, selecting, and comparing them during shopping into an easy and enjoyable experience through real-time conversations with generative AI." He added, "We plan to further enhance the service by integrating the latest technologies such as customer intent analysis, image analysis, and vector search using AI technology."


Each AI MD is assigned a different virtual persona for the eight categories to communicate warmly with customers. For example, the AI MD for the parenting category, 'Haruharu,' is set as a novice mother raising a 20-month-old daughter and recommends childcare products that modern mothers are interested in purchasing.


Additionally, ‘NyamNyamNyam’ (convenience foods), ‘Sanhaejinmi’ (livestock and seafood), ‘nan_fresh’ (fruits and agriculture), ‘Geongangchaenggimi’ (health), ‘Fashionista’ (fashion), ‘Yeou-ui Sallim’ (living), and ‘Nanbeauty’ (beauty) are also communicating with customers in real time. By using the chat button at the bottom of the feed, customers can exchange professional questions and answers with AI MDs for each category. Customers can 'like' feeds they enjoy and also use a community feature that collects only their activities.


Currently, 11st Street’s Ai Feed can be accessed through the 'Quick Service' section on the home screen of the 11st Street mobile app. After its debut at the end of last month and a period of service stabilization, it has recently been operating in full swing. From the beginning of this month until the 20th, the average daily unique visitors (UV) increased by 49% compared to last month’s daily average UV, and the number of comments increased by 28%. 11st Street plans to continuously upgrade the service while monitoring customer responses.


Meanwhile, 11st Street has been introducing AI-based customer services, including launching the AI-based personalized recommendation service 'Ai Home' beta earlier this year.
