‘Geumcheon Byeolgok in the World’ was prepared to enhance understanding of multiculturalism and create a space for communication and exchange where both domestic and foreign residents can come together and enjoy.
Various programs will be held, including hands-on experiences featuring characteristics of five countries in a pavilion styled like traditional markets from each country, world costume and play experiences, safety experiences in collaboration with Geumcheon Fire Station, and an exhibition of entries for the family photo contest.
At the craft experience pavilion themed on traditional markets of five countries, participants can make Taiwan’s oil-paper umbrellas, Vietnam’s traditional fans, Canada’s maple leaf-shaped soaps, Thailand’s birthstone bracelets, and Korea’s doorbells.
At the costume experience pavilion, visitors can wear traditional costumes from China, Japan, Vietnam, and take photos. In the food zone, various representative dishes from each country such as banana donuts (Equatorial Guinea), banh mi (Vietnam), lamb skewers (China), and takoyaki (Japan) can be tasted.
On stage, diverse performances such as foreign dances will delight the eyes and ears. Performances include a Nanta show by the ‘Youngul Somodu Family Volunteer Group’ from Geumcheon Family Center, Mongolian dance by the ‘Happiness Makers Connecting the World’ from Jung-gu Family Center, and Chinese dance by ‘Baekhwacheongja’ from Doremi Cooperative.
At the commemorative ceremony hosted by Geumcheon Family Center, emceed by ambassador announcer Shin Young-il, awards and certificates will be presented to the ‘Model Immigrants’ and winners of the family photo contest. All entries, including the winning family photos, can be viewed on the first floor of Geumcheon-gu Office.
