Seongdong-gu 'Salgoti Soccer Field' Free Weekend Access

Open every Saturday from 12 PM to 2 PM and Sunday from 2 PM to 4 PM starting November, no reservation needed... Developed to the highest standards for official Korea Football Association matches, operated as an open space for football players and local residents to enjoy together

Seongdong-gu, Seoul (District Mayor Jung Won-oh) announced that starting from November, Salgoti Soccer Field will be open for free to residents during certain weekend hours.

In August, Seongdong-gu completely renovated the aging sports facilities at Salgoti Sports Park (102-16 Sageun-dong), installing two artificial turf soccer fields and a new park golf practice area.

Additionally, the environments of the inline skating rink, X-game park, and outdoor basketball court were improved, and the number of parking spaces at Salgoti Public Parking Lot was expanded (from 102 to 203 spaces), providing residents with a more comfortable environment to enjoy recreational sports.

In particular, the newly constructed artificial turf and lighting of the soccer fields meet the highest standards suitable for official matches sanctioned by the Korea Football Association, earning great popularity among soccer enthusiasts.

Furthermore, the district will open Salgoti Soccer Field free of charge to all residents, not just soccer players, during certain weekend hours starting in November.

Previously, the soccer fields could be used by paying for two-hour slots for soccer and futsal games, but from November, anyone can use Salgoti Soccer Field free of charge every Saturday from 12 PM to 2 PM and Sunday from 2 PM to 4 PM.

It is especially expected to become a special space where families visiting together can enjoy play and physical activities with their children.

Salgoti Soccer Field can be used freely on-site without a separate reservation; however, to maintain the turf, pets, alcohol consumption, and cooking are prohibited.

Also, for the safety of users, activities involving sports equipment that could injure others, such as baseball or catch ball, are restricted.

Those wishing to rent Salgoti Soccer Field can apply through the Seongdong-gu Urban Management Corporation website: Seongdong-gu residents can apply from 10 AM on the 23rd to 5 PM on the 26th of each month, and both Seongdong-gu residents and non-residents can apply starting from 10 AM on the 27th of each month.

Jung Won-oh, Mayor of Seongdong-gu, stated, “We hope that by opening Salgoti Soccer Field free of charge, it will be widely used not only by recreational sports clubs but also as an open space for entire families to enjoy together. We will continue to strive to improve sports facilities and efficiently utilize spaces to enhance the convenience of residents’ physical activities.”
