Searched for Moon's Owned Officetel but Could Not Verify as Door Was Closed

The local district office has launched an on-site investigation regarding allegations that Dahye Moon, daughter of former President Moon Jae-in, operated illegal lodging businesses in Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul, following similar suspicions in Jeju.

According to Yeongdeungpo-gu on the 22nd, the district office visited an officetel owned by Moon near Yeongdeungpo Station subway around 4 p.m. that day.

However, since the door was closed, it was reported that they could not confirm whether lodging operations were actually taking place at the officetel.

Moon purchased the officetel on June 23, 2021, and the registry shows she is the sole owner.

The district office stated, "We plan to conduct another on-site inspection soon to verify if it is indeed being used as a lodging business, and if confirmed, we will request a police investigation."

Recently, the district office received complaints requesting verification of whether Moon is operating a lodging business using a shared lodging platform without residing there.

To operate an officetel as a shared lodging business, facilities and equipment must comply with the Public Health Act, and a public health business registration must be filed with the local district office.

Previously, Jeju City requested a police investigation after allegations arose that lodging operations were conducted without registration at a house owned by Moon in Hallim-eup, Jeju City.
