Damyang-gun, Jeollanam-do announced on the 22nd that it held the 'Direct Market for Agricultural Specialty Products' four times in Seoul and Hwasun throughout October.
The county started with the direct market held at Bongeunsa Temple in Seoul from the 4th to the 6th, followed by the event venue of the 'Mudeungsan Geo Marathon' in Hwasun on the 13th, Seoul City Hall Plaza from the 14th to the 16th, and Jogyesa Temple in Seoul from the 18th to the 20th.
At this market, over 60 products were showcased, including rice syrup gangjeong and handmade yakgwa, gimbugak, kombucha, and tofu snacks, all made from clean Damyang agricultural products that taste even better in autumn.
Unlike online purchases, consumers could directly taste various samples and receive detailed explanations of the product features, which resulted in high consumer response. Especially, the diverse age groups and demographics depending on the event's nature attracted different audiences: foreign visitors and young tourists at Bongeunsa Temple in Seoul, and marathon runners nationwide at the Mudeungsan Geo Marathon, showcasing excellent agricultural specialty products.
Lee Byung-no, the mayor of Damyang-gun, said, “We operated direct markets for Damyang nationwide to provide consumers with opportunities to taste and purchase directly,” and added, “We ask for continued interest in Damyang’s agricultural specialty products.”
