Providing Comprehensive Support Services Combining Employment Support Services and Workers' Shelter
Uijeongbu City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Kim Dong-geun) announced on the 22nd that the Uijeongbu Job Center will be relocated to the Labor Welfare Hall building (10 Dunya-ro) and begin operations there starting on the 28th.
Until now, the Uijeongbu Job Center had concerns about safety accidents due to internal leaks and lack of ventilation facilities, and there was also a possibility of legal violations due to the absence of worker rest areas and restrooms.
To resolve these issues, provincial funds were secured last December to promote the relocation. The relocation plan was finalized in February, and remodeling work on the first floor of the Labor Welfare Hall was completed in October.
The new Job Center will operate as a "Comprehensive Job Support Center" that combines employment support services with worker rest areas to provide integrated support services.
Utilizing the geographical advantage of being concentrated with related organizations such as the Uijeongbu Youth Center, Gyeonggi Job Foundation, Northern Gyeonggi Regional Saeil Center, Employment Welfare Plus Center, Uijeongbu Family Center, and Uijeongbu Public Health Center, a cooperative system will be established to strengthen job linkage services.
Additionally, company-friendly programs such as customized talent placement for businesses, permanent interview rooms, and accompanied interviews will be expanded. A job discovery team will also be launched to uncover hidden local jobs and connect them to job seekers.
Mayor Kim Dong-geun stated, "Through the establishment of this Comprehensive Job Support Center, we will provide specialized services unique to Uijeongbu City," adding, "We will strive to simultaneously resolve the recruitment difficulties of companies and the employment challenges of talent, contributing to the development of the local economy."
Meanwhile, the Job Center will relocate on the 25th, and after operations are organized, an opening ceremony for the Comprehensive Job Support Center is scheduled for November.
