A campaign featuring the characters 'Gudoil' and 'Podoli' together to eradicate and prevent youth cyber gambling.
The picket relay, jointly conducted by the National Police Agency and ‘Toss,’ aims to raise social awareness and prevent and eradicate youth cyber gambling. Participants post a picket photo with the phrase “Until the day youth gambling disappears” on social media and then nominate the next participant in a relay format.
On October 14, Jeong Sang-jin, Chief of the Ulsan Police Agency, participated in this campaign and nominated S-OIL’s character ‘Gudoil’ as the next participant. ‘Gudoil’ then nominated the Korean Red Cross blood donation character ‘Nanumi’ as the following participant.
Recently, the Ulsan Police Agency created the phrase ‘ㄲㄲㄲSong,’ an abbreviation meaning “Turn off unknown links, hang up on remittance request calls, and break the mindset of not being deceived,” to prevent voice phishing. They have conducted SNS challenges with S-OIL, famous influencers, and others, and have also operated a promotional booth to inform the public about security policies at the ‘2024 Ulsan Industrial Festival,’ among various other activities.
An S-OIL representative stated, “Since September, S-OIL has been carrying out public interest activities such as preventing voice phishing and eradicating youth cyber gambling through the communication messenger character ‘Gudoil.’ We will continue to do our best to play a positive role in the local community.”
