Naver Pay announced on the 22nd the launch of the 'CU Npay Card,' which offers discount and reward benefits when paying with Naver Pay at CU convenience stores, in partnership with BGF Retail and Shinhan Card. This is the first case of a collaboration among a simple payment (pay) company, an offline retailer, and a card company.
When paying with the CU Npay Card via Naver Pay QR payment at CU convenience stores, up to 20% of the payment amount is instantly discounted. Naver Plus Membership members can also receive an additional double benefit of up to 10%. The double benefit refers to a 5% instant reward and a 5% instant discount. As part of a promotion, until next month, 100% of the payment amount made with the CU Npay Card at CU convenience stores will be refunded up to a maximum of 30,000 KRW.
Benefits can also be enjoyed at other online and offline affiliated stores. When using the CU Npay Card for on-site payment via the Naver Pay application (app) offline, 5% of the payment amount is rewarded. At online affiliated stores, 2% Naver Pay points are provided as rewards.
The annual fee is 16,000 KRW for domestic use only and 19,000 KRW for international use (MASTER). Detailed information about the CU Npay Card and related events can be found in the 'Npay Card' tab at the top of the 'Finance Home - Card' menu in the Naver Pay app, and also in the Shinhan SOL Pay and Pocket CU apps.
Additionally, the three companies plan to launch a joint PB brand product called 'ShinCine' next month. ShinCine is a marketing brand created by combining the first letters of Shinhan Card, CU, and Naver Pay, symbolizing the cooperation among the three companies. The ShinCine PB products to be released next month will offer discounts of up to 90%. Furthermore, a special 50% discount will be provided when purchasing the collaboration product with Chef Kwon Sung-jun, 'Matpolri Chestnut Tiramisu Cup,' which sold out within 9 days after its launch and achieved cumulative sales of 150,000 units, using the CU Npay Card.
Ryu Jeong-won, leader of the Naver Pay Payment Marketing Team, said, "The CU Npay Card is the first three-party partnership card among pay companies, retailers, and card companies, and the first partnership card to offer additional discount benefits for Naver Pay on-site payment services.
