Kim Hyun-soo, the First Deputy Mayor of Suwon City, is presiding over a meeting at City Hall on the 21st regarding the introduction of the mobile electronic notification service.
The city of Suwon in Gyeonggi Province is establishing a ‘mobile electronic notification service’ system that sends various tax-related bills and notices via KakaoTalk and text messages, and will officially launch the service starting in November.
On the 21st, Suwon City held a ‘Suwon Mobile Electronic Notification System Construction Service Completion Report Meeting’ at the City Hall Disaster and Safety Situation Room, chaired by Kim Hyun-soo, the First Deputy Mayor, to discuss the service introduction plan.
The mobile electronic notification service is a system that sends bills and notices to the recipient’s smartphone registered under their name using certified electronic document intermediaries such as Kakao and KT, instead of paper bills.
The mobile electronic notification targets four types of documents: ▲local tax payment reminder notices ▲non-tax revenue delinquency payment reminders ▲automobile compulsory insurance reduction notices ▲automobile comprehensive inspection reminders. Next year, five more types, including preliminary and main parking violation fine notices, will be added.
Suwon City expects to save approximately 380 million KRW annually by introducing the mobile electronic notification system.
Kim Hyun-soo, First Deputy Mayor of Suwon City, stated, "With the introduction of the mobile electronic notification service, citizens can receive bills and notices more conveniently and quickly, and it also helps protect the environment by reducing paper usage. We will continue to expand the scope of the electronic notification service and improve administrative services by adding convenience features."
