Lectures on Safety Accident Cases, Road Traffic Act, and Labor Rights
Geumcheon-gu (Mayor Yu Seong-hoon) announced that it will conduct safety education for delivery workers at the Geumcheon-gu Workers' Comprehensive Support Center over two days, October 30 and 31.
The district prepared this training to create a safe delivery culture in preparation for the winter season, when accidents such as slipping on snowy roads are frequent.
Instructors invited from the Korea Road Traffic Authority and the Delivery Platform Labor Union will conduct lectures on topics including safety accident cases, road traffic laws, platform-based labor, and labor rights.
In particular, reflecting the opinions of those who completed the safety training in the first half of the year and requested detailed explanations of traffic regulations, traffic law education will be strengthened with the support of the Geumcheon Police Station and the Seoul branch of the Road Traffic Authority.
Delivery workers who complete the training will be supported with up to 100,000 KRW for purchasing safety supplies.
Meanwhile, since 2023, the district has been selected for two consecutive rounds as the first in Seoul for the ‘Platform Workplace Improvement Support Project’ led by the Ministry of Employment and Labor. Also, on October 10, with support from Coupang Eats Service and the Korea Motorcycle Association, a free safety inspection and consumables replacement event was held for 108 delivery workers in preparation for winter.
Yu Seong-hoon, Mayor of Geumcheon-gu, stated, “As delivery demand increases, the risk of accidents for delivery workers also grows, but above all, safety is the most important. We will continue to make efforts so that delivery workers can work in a safe environment.”
