Yangcheon-gu, Seoul (Mayor Lee Gi-jae) is opening the ‘Neolbeundeul Future Education Center,’ a digital play and learning fusion experience space designed to nurture innovative talents who will lead future society, on the 22nd. With the establishment of the Neolbeundeul Future Education Center in Sinjeong 3-dong and the Sinwol area, the district has completed the construction of future education centers by region.
Located within the Neolbeundeul Civil Service Center, the ‘Neolbeundeul Future Education Center’ spans a total area of 409.4㎡ and consists of five experience zones and an education zone focused on play and sports-type content.
The experience zones include △ the ‘AI Robot Zone,’ where visitors can experience conversation, motion interaction, and coding through robots, a representative artificial intelligence technology △ the ‘Coding Play Zone,’ which combines coding with battles △ the ‘Drone Zone,’ where visitors can enjoy drone driving and drone soccer, recently gaining popularity as e-sports △ the ‘XR Sports Zone,’ offering immersive sports experiences in virtual spaces △ and the ‘Artificial Intelligence Education Zone,’ where users learn how to utilize generative AI. These zones provide lively experiences through easy-to-learn play-type content.
The experience programs operate on a group reservation basis for classes from elementary and middle schools within the district on weekdays (Tuesday to Friday), while individual reservations are available for using the experience zones on Saturdays.
The education zone offers basic and advanced courses to strengthen future technology competencies. Basic courses include one-day classes and Saturday and vacation special lectures, while advanced learning consists of a six-week regular course. Various curricula are organized and operated according to the age and level of the educational target, ranging from young children to middle school students.
The Neolbeundeul Future Education Center will operate a pilot program throughout November. During this period, courses such as △ Making Robot Friends △ Robot Sports △ Easy Coding for Young Children △ Creating AI Life Photos △ AI Smart Factory △ and Drone Driving Classes can be taken free of charge. Applications can be submitted through the ‘Yangcheon-gu Lifelong Learning Portal’ until the 31st of this month.
The district has established future education centers by region where residents can experience and learn various core future technologies. The ‘Mokdong Future Education Center’ in the Mokdong area opened last month as a space linking learning, college entrance, and career paths, while the Sinjeong area’s ‘Smart Yangcheon Future Education Center’ has become a space for operating customized programs by age and grade.
Mayor Lee Gi-jae said, “The Neolbeundeul Future Education Center is a space where people can learn future technologies such as artificial intelligence and coding through digital play-type educational content,” adding, “Going forward, the district will continue to expand educational infrastructure for the generation that will lead the future by taking the lead in the changes of the times.”
