Paju-si, Early Completion of Geumchon District Cadastral Resurvey Project

Paju-si, Early Completion of Geumchon District Cadastral Resurvey Project Paju City Hall exterior.

Gyeonggi Paju City (Mayor Kim Kyung-il) announced on the 21st that it has early completed the cadastral resurvey project on October 18 for 98 parcels totaling 13,064.4㎡ in the Geumchon district, out of 953 parcels and 396,062㎡ across four districts including Geumchon district, which has been underway since October 2023.

The cadastral resurvey project is a national initiative aimed at investigating and surveying cadastral discrepancies where the actual land use does not match the cadastral records, organizing the cadastral records accordingly, and converting the paper cadastral maps created over 110 years ago during the Japanese colonial period into digital cadastral maps.

The recently completed project area is the Geumchon district, where the implementation plan was established in October 2023. Boundaries were set through landowner consent, designation of the project area, and boundary adjustment consultations with landowners. After resolution by the Boundary Determination Committee, the boundaries were finalized, and following the project completion announcement, new cadastral records were created.

By clarifying land boundaries through the cadastral resurvey project, boundary disputes were resolved, building encroachments were eliminated, land shapes were regularized, and the value of the land was enhanced, contributing to increased citizen satisfaction.

Although the original project period was until October 2025, the project was completed early thanks to the active cooperation of landowners and the diligent fieldwork of city officials. After project completion, the city plans to proceed with registration requests and appraisals for lands with changed areas, calculate adjustment payments, and notify the owners accordingly.

Kim Nana, Director of the Land Information Division, stated, “We ask for much interest and cooperation not only for the three districts currently underway but also for the cadastral resurvey projects being progressively implemented through 2030.”
