Supply Increased Compared to Last Year... Despite Sharp Rise in Vegetable Prices, Price Frozen at 40,000 KRW per 20kg Box
Guro-gu will start direct orders for salted napa cabbage, a specialty product of its sister city, Goesan-gun in Chungbuk, on the 28th to mark the kimchi-making season.
The direct transaction event for Goesan-gun salted napa cabbage, promoted by the district to ease the price burden on residents, receives enthusiastic responses from citizens every year.
In particular, the napa cabbage grown in the clean area of Goesan is salted with solar salt from Sinan-gun, resulting in excellent taste and texture, and it is HACCP certified, ensuring it is safe to eat.
This year, the district has prepared a supply of 800 boxes of salted napa cabbage, more than last year, and despite the recent surge in vegetable prices, the price will be frozen at 40,000 KRW per box (20kg).
Any Guro-gu resident or worker in the area can purchase, and applications can be made through the district office website from 9 a.m. on October 28 to 6 p.m. on November 1. However, the quantity is limited on a first-come, first-served basis and may close early.
Applicants must pay by November 5 and pick up their orders in person at the entrance of the Guro Art Valley public parking lot from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on November 22.
A Guro-gu official said, “With napa cabbage prices rising sharply, we expect that direct transactions for salted napa cabbage will help ease the shopping burden for residents even a little,” and added, “We hope for much interest and participation.”
