Yongin City to Operate Joint Booth with SoBuJang Companies at 'SEDEX 2024'

Five Companies Including Surplus Global Participate... Support for Market Development
Promotion of Advanced System Semiconductor Complex and Yongin Semiconductor Cluster

Yongin City in Gyeonggi Province announced on the 21st that it will operate a joint pavilion with local materials, parts, and equipment (SoBuJang) companies at the '26th Semiconductor Exhibition (SEDEX·Semiconductor Exhibition)'.

Five semiconductor companies from the region will participate to introduce their businesses and products, while Yongin City will present its semiconductor development strategy and conduct activities to attract companies.

SEDEX 2024, held for three days from the 23rd to the 25th at COEX in Samseong-dong, Seoul, is the largest semiconductor specialized exhibition in Korea. Organized by the Korea Semiconductor Industry Association, the event features 250 domestic and international semiconductor manufacturing and equipment companies with over 600 booths. The exhibition covers all sectors of the semiconductor industry, including ▲memory semiconductors ▲system semiconductors ▲equipment and parts ▲materials ▲facilities ▲sensors, allowing attendees to check industry trends and current status.

This year, the city will promote semiconductor industry development policies, competitiveness, and growth potential, as well as support companies in exploring new markets. The joint exhibition pavilion will include local SoBuJang companies such as ▲Surplus Global ▲EQ Global ▲Apple T ▲Wicron ▲ST Corporation. Additionally, the city will carry out promotional and investment attraction activities for ▲Yongin L-shaped semiconductor ecosystem creation ▲expansion of semiconductor industry transportation infrastructure ▲advanced system semiconductor national industrial complex ▲Yongin semiconductor cluster general industrial complex.

A city official stated, "Through the exhibition, we will promote Yongin City as a global semiconductor hub and engage in activities to attract domestic and international semiconductor companies and investments," adding, "We will play a supportive role to help local semiconductor SoBuJang companies gain competitiveness in the global market."
