Jungnang-gu Bang Jeong-hwan Education Support Center Operates '2024 Education Program for Students with Disabilities'
Comprehensive Education, Career and Job Experience, Admission Briefings, Healing Programs, and More Offered

Jungnang-gu (Mayor Ryu Gyeong-gi) Bang Jeong-hwan Education Support Center is operating an educational program for students with developmental disabilities.

This education program was planned to help students with disabilities adapt to society and improve their communication skills. It started on the 5th of this month and will be held a total of 7 times over one month until the 31st, targeting about 120 developmental disability students and their families in the area.

The main programs consist of ▲holistic education ▲career and job experience ▲admission briefing sessions ▲healing programs for families.

First, the holistic education program includes traditional story folk games and the Bang Jeong-hwan’s children’s world performance "Colorful Fish." Students will have time to learn about Korea’s traditional culture and understand social norms by directly experiencing traditional culture.

For the career program, job experiences such as ‘Food Stylist’ and ‘Florist’ are provided. Through this, social skills training to improve communication skills and opportunities to explore various careers are offered.

Additionally, an admission and career briefing session is held for parents raising children with developmental disabilities. Important information about special admission for disabled students and advancement to higher education is shared, and special education experts provide customized counseling.

Furthermore, a healing horticulture program will be conducted to help parents overcome psychological and physical fatigue from raising their children and gain new energy.

Ryu Gyeong-gi, Mayor of Jungnang-gu, said, “I hope that through this education, students with developmental disabilities will participate in society with confidence,” and added, “We will continuously support so that families and the local community can work together to help students maximize their potential.”
