Zelensky: "We Must Respond Firmly to North Korea's Deployment of Troops to Russia"

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has called for a resolute response from the international community against North Korea, which is supporting Russia's invasion of Ukraine.

According to major foreign media on the 20th (local time), President Zelenskyy stated in a video address that there is satellite and video evidence showing North Korea sending equipment and troops to be deployed on the battlefield to Russia.

Regarding North Korea-Russia cooperation, he said, "I am grateful to the national leaders who do not turn a blind eye and speak frankly," adding, "We expect our partners to respond more normally, frankly, and strongly in this regard."

Earlier, Ukraine announced on the 17th that about 11,000 North Korean soldiers were in Russia. The National Intelligence Service also confirmed that North Korea decided to dispatch a total force of 12,000 troops. As North Korea-Russia military cooperation strengthens to an alliance level, concerns are growing not only in South Korea but also in the international community.
