Yangcheon-gu to Host Information Session on Smart High School Selection on the 5th of Next Month

Yangcheon-gu, Seoul (District Mayor Lee Gi-jae) will hold a "High School Selection and College Entrance Strategy Seminar" on the 5th of next month at Haenuri Hall in Haenuri Town, targeting 400 residents including prospective high school students and their parents who are interested in high school admission. Registration for participants will begin on the 21st.


This seminar is designed to help attendees plan their career and admission roadmap before entering high school by providing a detailed overview of admission strategies according to different types of high schools such as general high schools, autonomous private high schools, and special-purpose high schools, as well as the changing college entrance environment including the high school credit system.


Jung Je-won, a representative lecturer of the EBS College Entrance Explanation Seminar and currently a high school teacher, will share essential information needed by prospective high school students, including ▲analysis of characteristics and pros and cons of each type of high school ▲strategies for selecting humanities, natural sciences, and course subjects ▲preparation for changes in college entrance and admission environments. Residents wishing to participate can register on a first-come, first-served basis through the Yangcheon-gu Lifelong Learning Portal starting at 10 a.m. on the 21st.


Meanwhile, since February, the district has provided tailored educational information to over 7,300 parents and residents by holding events such as the "New Semester Preparation Admission Seminar," "Comprehensive Student Record Screening Strategy Seminar," "Y Education Expo High School-Specific Seminar," and "College Entrance Early Admission Strategy Seminar."


Lee Gi-jae, Mayor of Yangcheon-gu, said, "We hope this seminar, which provides customized career and admission information, will help students and parents facing high school entrance to alleviate their anxiety about the entrance exam in advance and assist in establishing a successful admission strategy."
