Goyang City Successfully Concludes the 11th Hogukbohun Cultural Festival

Lee Dong-hwan, Mayor of Goyang Special City, is delivering a congratulatory speech at the 11th Goyang Citizens' Patriotic and Veterans Culture Festival held at Hanul Square in Ilsan Lake Park on the 19th.

Goyang Special City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Lee Dong-hwan) announced on the 20th that it held the "11th Goyang Citizens' Patriotic and Veterans Culture Festival" at Hanul Square in Ilsan Lake Park on the 19th.

The Patriotic and Veterans Culture Festival is Goyang City's representative veterans event where civilians, government, and military come together to honor the spirit of the patriotic martyrs and war veterans. Through this event, it is a meaningful occasion to pay tribute to the high ideals and honor of national merit recipients and to reflect on the lessons of war and the spirit of defending freedom and peace.

This year's event, themed on love for the country and peace, proceeded with a consolation gathering for national merit recipients, followed by a commemorative ceremony and a military demonstration performance.

In particular, the exhibition of military mechanized equipment and various military gear, the photo exhibition of the excavation of the remains of the Korean War (6·25) fallen soldiers, and the operation of experience centers provided citizens with special experiences they usually do not encounter, making it easier for them to understand veterans affairs.

Mayor Lee Dong-hwan of Goyang said in his congratulatory speech, "I hope the Patriotic and Veterans Culture Festival will serve as an opportunity to pass on the spirit of national merit recipients' sacrifice and dedication to the next generation," and added, "We will take the lead in creating a social atmosphere where national merit recipients who devoted themselves to the country can live with honor and pride."
