Jo Dongsik, Chairman of the Seosan City Council in Chungnam, marked his 100th day in office as the chairman of the second half of the 9th council on July 1.

Chairman Jo has diligently carried out a busy schedule, dedicating himself to the operation of the Seosan City Council.

In particular, Chairman Jo is striving to faithfully fulfill the council’s role as a representative body for the citizens, under the goal of 'citizen happiness.'

He has been known for his diligence even during his time as a regular council member.

For the past six years, he has been the first to arrive at the council office before sunrise to turn on the lights, and once the day began, he would go anywhere citizens were, regardless of time or place.

Because of this, public officials and citizens alike praise Chairman Jo as 'a consistently reliable person, truly a good person' who always listens to the voices of citizens on the frontlines and works for the development of Seosan City.

One notable story is that, even before being elected as a council member, Chairman Jo volunteered as a parking guide at church on Sundays, and after taking office as chairman, he stopped the parking service at the priest's request to focus on council activities.

After being unanimously elected as chairman by all 14 council members last June, Chairman Jo expressed his ambition to help create a 'Seosan City with a human touch.'

He also stated that there is no difference between volunteering and council work, drawing attention by expressing his belief that contributing to the community with endless dedication and without a sense of authority is what matters most.

Chairman Jo Dongsik said, “Through proper checks and oversight, mutual growth, and cooperation in all council activities, I will do my best to realize a ‘Seosan City Council where principles and common sense prevail,’ so that we can meet citizens’ expectations and repay their trust.”
