On the 17th, Yangsan City in Gyeongnam held a public hearing for the construction of the Yangsan City Museum of Art.

At this public hearing, a venue was provided to gather diverse opinions from related experts and citizens to further specify the construction plan for the Yangsan City Museum of Art.

During the hearing, there were heated discussions about the direction of the city museum's construction and the museum's identity, and citizens freely shared their opinions and suggestions. Yangsan City plans to faithfully reflect the opinions gathered at the hearing in the construction plan of the Yangsan City Museum of Art, and will do its best to realize the museum that citizens desire.

So far, the city has been preparing the basics for the construction of the Yangsan City Museum of Art since early this year, including ▲ hiring a new art history specialist researcher ▲ conducting a feasibility study and establishing basic and detailed plans for the museum's construction ▲ conducting surveys to collect citizens' opinions related to the museum's construction ▲ enacting an ordinance for collecting art pieces ▲ and proceeding with the public collection of artworks. After finalizing the project plan for the museum's construction, the city plans to apply for the preliminary feasibility evaluation review for public museum construction conducted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism next year.

Mayor Na Dong-yeon said, “We will fully gather citizens' opinions from the public hearing and faithfully reflect them in the museum construction plan to promote the project,” adding, “We will ensure that the museum is not just a cultural facility but establishes itself as a cultural space with a unique identity.”
