Uijeongbu City, Women-Friendly City Supporters' 'Gender Equality Promotion Campaign'

Mayor Kim Dong-geun: "We Will Promote Projects to Create a Social Atmosphere Practicing Gender Equality"

The Uijeongbu City Women-Friendly City Supporters 'Yeouiju' conducted a 'Gender Equality Promotion Campaign' at the Gyeonggi Northern Region Women's Employment Fair 'Iltteulnal' event on the 16th.

Uijeongbu City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Kim Dong-geun) announced on the 18th that the women-friendly city supporters group "Yeouiju" (Owners of Women-Friendly City Uijeongbu, President Yang Suk-gyeong) conducted a "Gender Equality Promotion Campaign" at the Gyeonggi Northern Region Women's Employment Fair "Iltteulnal" held on the 16th at the indoor gymnasium of Eunhye Hall, Shinhan University.

This campaign was organized to prevent career interruptions for women and promote their social participation by breaking down stereotypes about gender roles and spreading the value of gender equality.

Following last month's Gender Equality Week event, Yeouiju prepared this campaign by producing promotional items (ribbon keychains, eco-friendly scrubbers) through the members' talent donations.

They communicated with citizens participating in the fair by conducting surveys on topics such as "gender stereotypes assigned to men and women" and "policy ideas for realizing gender equality."

Mayor Kim Dong-geun said, "I hope this event became an opportunity to understand and empathize with the value of gender equality," and added, "We will continue to actively promote projects to create a social atmosphere that practices gender equality in both work and family life."
