Yeoju Small Business Support Center Benchmarks Gongjusanseong Market The Yeoju Small Business Support Center visited Sanseong Market in Gongju, Chungcheongnam-do on the 11th to revitalize the commercial district of Yeoju.

On the 18th, Yeoju City in Gyeonggi Province announced that it will operate the Yeoju Small Business Support Center to support local small business owners and revitalize the regional economy.

The center is promoting various small business support projects, including the Small Business Practical College, SNS Promotion Team operation, Youth Small Business Owner Support Fund, and the Happy Sharing Support Project for the New Middle-aged 5060 generation.

On the 11th, the Yeoju Small Business Support Center visited Chungcheongnam-do Gongju Sanseong Market together with the Yeoju Small Business Association and various merchant associations to explore ways to revitalize Yeoju’s commercial districts.

Gongju Sanseong Market conducts merchant kindness training through the ‘Misogoma Flash Mob,’ a kindness response campaign involving more than 200 merchants, and also focuses on enhancing expertise through specialized training in taxation and labor affairs.

Sanseong Market was selected as the best market among 1,500 markets nationwide in 2022 and is regarded as a representative success case of regional commercial district revitalization.

The Yeoju Small Business Support Center toured key facilities at Gongju Sanseong Market, directly listened to merchants’ opinions, and actively sought ways to revitalize Yeoju’s commercial districts and attract population inflow.

They also heard from the Sanseong Market Merchant Association about the operation methods of market revitalization projects and discussed ways to apply them to Yeoju’s circumstances.

A representative of the Yeoju Merchant Association who participated in this visit said, “Seeing a success case that we had only encountered through broadcast media in person made it more tangible, and especially the large number of young visitors was impressive. It became an opportunity to gain good ideas for revitalizing the commercial district.”

Yoo Jun-hee, head of the Yeoju Small Business Support Center, stated, “We will implement projects for small business owners and self-employed people in the city by integrating support policies suited to our city’s circumstances,” adding, “Sharing the know-how of Gongju Sanseong Market will be very helpful in establishing differentiated market revitalization projects unique to Yeoju and revitalizing Yeoju’s economy.”
