Promotion of Various National Heritage Enjoyment Programs Including 740 Million KRW in Government Funding
Goryeong County (Governor Lee Nam-cheol) announced on the 18th that it has been selected for the 2025 National Heritage Utilization Project competition hosted by the National Heritage Agency, securing a total of 1.84 billion KRW, including 740 million KRW in national funding.
The projects selected in this competition include ▲ National Heritage Media Art Project ▲ Hyanggyo and Seowon Utilization Project ▲ Traditional House Head Family Utilization Project ▲ World Heritage Utilization Project.
The Jisandong Tumuli Media Art Project combines the latest media technology with national heritage to create a representative nighttime content that allows people to enjoy national heritage more easily and interestingly. In 2025, media art with stories and themes will be produced at the Jisandong Tumuli, which was registered as a World Heritage site in 2023, and presented to domestic and international visitors.
The Goryeong Hyanggyo Utilization Project has been continuously selected since 2017 and offers various experiential programs that explore the historical meaning and value contained in Goryeong Hyanggyo. Programs such as the Goryeong Stay Program and learning about the Six Arts of a Confucian scholar with Joseon characters have received great responses from tourists nationwide.
The Jeompiljae Jongtaek Utilization Project is a unique traditional cultural experience program using the head family house, offering an overnight stay program titled “A 2-day, 1-night Journey to Jeompiljae Ancestral House.” It is an educational travel program about the life and family traditions of scholar Kim Jong-jik, which has received great acclaim from tourists across the country.
The World Heritage Utilization Project is the first utilization program conducted since the registration of the Jisandong Tumuli as a World Heritage site. It will include various experiential programs such as escape room missions, Daegaya cultural experiences, and the Gobun Gobun concert, aiming to promote the World Heritage value of the Jisandong Tumuli.
Lee Nam-cheol, Governor of Goryeong County, said, “Taking the selection of the 2025 cultural heritage-related competition projects as an opportunity, we will promote the World Heritage and national heritage in Goryeong to domestic and international tourists and continue to make sustained efforts for Goryeong as a World Heritage city rich in history and culture.”
