The Gwangju City Library announced on the 18th that it is holding a special book exhibition commemorating author Han Kang's Nobel Prize in Literature at three locations?Mudeung, Sajik, and Sansu Libraries?until the end of December.

Following Han Kang's historic win as the first Korean recipient of the Nobel Prize in Literature on the 10th, interest in her works has surged explosively, prompting this exhibition to foster a "reading boom." Considering that most of Han Kang's major works are sold out or even difficult to borrow, the exhibition was organized to provide citizens with an opportunity to explore the author's literary world.

The special exhibition is held in the general reference rooms of the Mudeung, Sajik, and Sansu Libraries. A total of 63 volumes of 20 titles are displayed, including Han Kang's representative works such as The Vegetarian and Human Acts, as well as works that help understand her literary world like Fruit of My Woman and We Do Not Part.

During the exhibition period, citizens can read the author's works. The library's website also provides exhibition content, allowing people to explore Han Kang's literary world online.

Song Kyung-hee, director of the Gwangju City Library, said, "Through the special book exhibition of Han Kang, we hope the city library will establish itself as a space where literature and culture can be deeply experienced," adding, "We hope citizens gain profound emotion and new insights by experiencing Han Kang's literature."
