Handcuffs Not Applied During Escort Process

An illegal immigrant who pushed away an escorting police officer and fled was caught by the police after 10 hours.
On the 17th, the Naju Police Station in Jeollanam-do announced that they had arrested a man in his 30s, Mr. A, a Thai national, on charges of escape and others.
According to the police, Mr. A is accused of pushing a police officer and fleeing from the Naju Police Station, where he had been brought in as a suspect in an assault case, around 10:30 p.m. the previous day.
At the time, it was reported that the police did not handcuff Mr. A during the escort process. The police tracked his escape route and apprehended him near his residence at around 8:30 a.m. the following day, about 10 hours later.
The police are investigating the circumstances of the incident to determine the course of action regarding Mr. A, whose domestic stay visa had expired, and will also initiate an internal investigation into the inadequate management of the suspect.
