Guri City Council Urges Reconsideration of the Name for Sejong-Pocheon Han River Crossing Bridge Shin Dong-hwa, Chairman of the Guri City Council, is holding a major issue briefing on the 17th in the multi-room of the Guri City Council.

The Guri City Council in Gyeonggi Province (Chairman Shin Dong-hwa) announced that it will submit a resolution urging the reconsideration of the name for the Han River crossing bridge on the Sejong-Pocheon Expressway.


On the 17th, Chairman Shin Dong-hwa held a major issue briefing in the multi-room of the Guri City Council and made this announcement.


Chairman Shin Dong-hwa explained the recently decided name of the Han River crossing bridge on the Sejong-Pocheon Expressway and stated, "All members of the Guri City Council are very regretful," adding, "We plan to submit and adopt a resolution urging the reconsideration of the name of the Han River crossing bridge on the Sejong-Pocheon Expressway so that the name 'Godeok-Topyeong Bridge,' decided by the National Geographic Names Committee, can be reconsidered."


He further added, “Through the resolution urging the reconsideration of the name of the Han River crossing bridge on the Sejong-Pocheon Expressway, we will do our utmost until the end to ensure that the 33rd Han River crossing bridge, whose 87% of the bridge and the two main towers, the core of the cable-stayed bridge, are all located within the administrative district of Guri City, is named ‘Guri Bridge.’”


Meanwhile, the Guri City Council plans to jointly host the 'Local Autonomy and Balanced Development Day Ceremony' on the 29th with Guri City and co-organized by the Guri City Residents' Autonomy Council.


Additionally, from the 22nd to the 23rd, the 341st Guri City Council extraordinary session will be held for two days, during which a total of 19 agenda items related to citizens' safety and livelihood will be reviewed and resolved.
