Ildong Pharmaceutical announced on the 17th that it has launched Purepacen 600, an oral hemorrhoid medication available at pharmacies without a prescription, and is strengthening the lineup of its hemorrhoid treatment brand, the Purepa series.
Ildong Pharmaceutical offers various formulations of hemorrhoid treatments tailored to patients' conditions, including oral medications and topical applications such as ▲Purepine Gel ▲Purepine Ointment ▲Purepine Mild Ointment, as well as suppositories inserted into the anus like ▲Purepine Mild Suppository.
The newly introduced Purepacen 600 is an over-the-counter drug containing diosmin, a plant-derived natural flavonoid, as its active ingredient. It is effective for ▲treatment of hemorrhoid-related symptoms ▲improvement of symptoms related to venous insufficiency ▲adjunctive treatment of disorders caused by capillary fragility.
Purepacen 600 contains twice the diosmin content compared to Ildong Pharmaceutical’s existing oral hemorrhoid treatments, with 600 mg per single dose (one tablet). Additionally, the product name includes ‘cen,’ meaning strong, added to the hemorrhoid treatment product group name ‘Purepa,’ and the packaging color has been unified to yellow, the signature color of the ‘Purepa series,’ considering brand association.
An Ildong Pharmaceutical representative stated, “According to existing research and our own survey results related to hemorrhoids, mixed hemorrhoids, where both internal and external hemorrhoids occur together, are common, and symptoms such as pain, itching, and bleeding often appear simultaneously. It is effective to appropriately use oral medications, topical applications, and suppositories together after consulting with a specialist.”
