Cho Woongrae, Chairman of Sunyang Soju Co., who created the Gyejoksan Hwangtotgil, recognized as South Korea's premier destination for barefoot walking, has published a book titled "The Gift of Bare Feet" on the 17th, sharing his unconventional life story.
"The Gift of Bare Feet" tells the story of his determination and passion in creating and maintaining the Gyejoksan Hwangtotgil since 2006, investing 19 billion won to turn it into a sanctuary for barefoot walking, as well as the stories of countless people who have connected barefoot on this path.
The book also includes his reasons for continuously running and taking on challenges, such as completing the 5,228 km journey around the borders of South Korea, along with life experiences and wisdom he wishes to share with many others.
Chairman Cho is a first-generation venture entrepreneur who founded his own business in his 30s with just 20 million won and achieved remarkable success. In his 50s, he covered Gyejoksan with soil, brought a piano up the mountain, and launched the forest concert "Funfun Classic," living a life full of creative and unconventional ideas.
To commemorate the publication of "The Gift of Bare Feet," a "Book Concert" will be held at noon on the 19th at the Gyejoksan Hwangtotgil Forest Concert Hall. The event will begin with a book signing by the author, followed by a talk concert and the forest music event "Funfun Classic."
Chairman Cho Woongrae stated, "Looking back on my days as a first-generation venture entrepreneur, soju company chairman, and Gyejoksan Hwangtotgil site manager, I have published 'The Gift of Bare Feet.'
