Gwangyang City in Jeollanam-do announced that it is proposing the Gwangyang Art Tour, rich in culture and emotion, for the third weekend of October, when the autumn atmosphere is deeply felt.


This weekend in Gwangyang, the Gwangyang Art Market "Let's Play with Art!" and the original musical "Taste of Gwangyang III: The Bridge Counting Stars" are waiting for visitors.

Also, footsteps continue to visit the 2024 Heo Young-man Special Invitational Exhibition at the Jeonnam Provincial Museum of Art, which is closing on the 20th, and the Baek Eun-ok Invitational Exhibition held at the Saemaeul Geumgo Gallery Cafe.


"Let's Play with Art! - See, Eat, and Buy at the Gwangyang Art Market" will be held on the 18th and continue for ten days at Inseo-ri Park in Gwangyang-eup and Subiacco Cafe in Jungma-dong. This event is a golden opportunity to purchase 175 works submitted by a total of 46 artists, including 43 domestic artists active in Gwangyang, Gwangju, Sacheon, Suncheon, and 3 overseas artists, at affordable prices.


The operating hours are from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., and the opening ceremony will be held at Subiacco Cafe at 11 a.m. on the 18th.


At the Gwangyang Culture and Arts Center Grand Theater, the original musical "Taste of Gwangyang III: The Bridge Counting Stars" will welcome citizens and tourists at 5 p.m. on the 19th. Set against the backdrop of Mangdeok Port in Gwangyang, where the posthumous works of Yun Dong-ju are preserved, this musical is expected to offer the romance of poetry and the port. Admission to the performance is free but on a first-come, first-served basis.


In particular, the special invitational exhibition of Heo Young-man, a key figure in the development of Korean comics, is about to close on the 20th, stirring the hearts of visitors who have not yet seen it.


The Baek Eun-ok Invitational Exhibition "October, Our Shining Time," held at the Saemaeul Geumgo Gallery Cafe in Jungma-dong, will heal modern people tired of daily life through Gwangyang’s sunshine, wind, and beautiful flowers such as ssukbujaengi (Aster), sunflowers, and hydrangeas, with themes like crossing the Bridge Counting Stars, returning to Mangdeok Port, and the camellia flowers of Okryong Temple Site: Into a thousand years of time.


This exhibition runs until the 30th, open every day without breaks, from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on weekdays and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on holidays.
