Mayor Kim Dong-geun is delivering a congratulatory speech at the '72nd Anniversary of the Veterans Day Ceremony' on the 16th. Uijeongbu City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Kim Dong-geun) announced on the 17th that the Uijeongbu City Chapter of the Veterans Association (President Jeong Myeong-cheol) held the ‘72nd Veterans Day Commemoration Ceremony’ at Wedding The Nakwon on the 16th.
About 100 people attended the event, including Mayor Kim Dong-geun, city council members, the head of the Northern Veterans Affairs Office, heads of veterans and security organizations, and members of the Veterans Association.
The ceremony began with the reading of the ‘Veterans’ Pledge,’ followed by awards presented to those who have contributed to the development of the Veterans Association and national security. The event continued with the president’s address, commemorative speeches, congratulatory remarks, and the reading of a resolution.
President Jeong Myeong-cheol said, “Thanks to the dedicated efforts of our members, the Veterans Association has been able to grow continuously,” and added, “We will continue to do our best for national security and the development of the local community.”
Mayor Kim Dong-geun stated, “I hope the Veterans Association will serve as a strong pillar of national security and actively contribute to the development of the local community.”
Meanwhile, the Uijeongbu City Veterans Association continues to hold monthly warm meal events and cleanliness volunteer activities in the community for the Korean War veterans.
