‘Becoming a Premier Department for Training Public Officials’
Dong-Eui Institute of Technology (President Kim Young-do) announced on the 17th that two graduates from the Department of Electric Vehicles have been finally accepted in the '2024 Army General Civil Servant Recruitment and National Civil Servant Recruitment'.
The Department of Electric Vehicles at Dong-Eui Institute of Technology has successfully placed 10 vehicle-related military civil servants in 2021, 4 in 2022, 2 in 2023, and 2 in 2024.
The average number of civil servant passers among graduates of the Department of Electric Vehicles over the past four years is 4.5, achieving results worthy of being called a prestigious department for nurturing civil servants. The written exam passers were announced in mid-August, and through the interview held in early September, the final successful candidates are Jo Won-bin (Class of 2022) and Chu Min-su (Class of 2022).
General military civil servants are specific civil servants who work alongside soldiers in military units. The scale of the 2024 Army General Civil Servant Recruitment is 2,194 people, with 321 positions for 9th-grade military civil servants in the vehicle field, accounting for 14.6% of the total recruitment. Vehicle field military civil servants are responsible for equipment repair and management related to construction equipment (heavy equipment, light equipment, compressors), disassembly, assembly, parts replacement, maintenance, and repair of land vehicles, as well as production, assembly, maintenance, and repair of internal and external combustion engines and engine parts.
Professor Kim Man-ho of the Department of Electric Vehicles said, “The Department of Electric Vehicles at Dong-Eui Institute of Technology is making efforts to enable students to find employment not only in automobile maintenance and large corporation production positions but also in fields such as civil servants.” He added, “I am pleased to show the status of a strong specialized college competing with true skills. Next year, we will find every possible way to help students achieve their dreams of becoming civil servants and pass the exams in greater numbers than this year.”
Established in 1995, the Department of Electric Vehicles at Dong-Eui Institute of Technology has trained over 5,000 automotive professionals to date. It is the only institution in the southeastern region that provides specialized education on eco-friendly vehicles, including electric vehicles, targeting industries. The department actively carries out various workforce development projects such as the 'Busan Metropolitan City BB21+ Eco-friendly Vehicle Workforce Development Project,' the Ministry of Employment and Labor's 'Work-Study Dual System for Enrolled Students,' and the 'Cheonghaejin University Project.'
