On the afternoon of the 15th, more than 50 executives and employees gathered at Noeul Park in Mapo-gu, Seoul, and contributed to the recovery of Nanji Island, which was once a landfill site, into a healthy forest by planting acorn trees.
The activity of cultivating a large forest by the combined efforts of the employees added special meaning as an anniversary event, considering that DL E&C’s former name was "Daelim (大林)." Boasting the longest history among domestic construction companies, DL E&C took its first step in October 1939 as a construction material sales company called "Burim Sanghoe" located in front of Bupyeong Station in Incheon. Later, in 1947, the company changed its name to "Daelim Industrial" and officially started its construction business. In 2021, it transitioned to a holding company system and was newly launched as DL E&C.
As part of its environment-conscious Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) management, DL E&C is participating in the "Jipssitong" campaign, which means "log that grows seeds at home." Since February, the company has grown acorn seeds into saplings over 100 days and delivered them to the Noeul Park Citizens’ Association at the end of June. This time, they carried out an activity of planting well-grown acorn saplings in Noeul Park.
Park Sang-shin, CEO of DL E&C, said, "In addition to eco-friendly programs such as the ongoing Clear Sharing volunteer activities and the Zero Paper Cup campaign, we plan to actively expand ESG management by promoting campaigns that enhance environmental sustainability."
