'Social Economy Meets Business'... Bucheon City to Host Social Economy Festa on the 18th

On the 18th, Bucheon City in Gyeonggi Province will hold the 2024 Bucheon Social Economy Festa and Corporate Festival at the city hall lawn square under the theme of 'Special Social Economy x Great Companies.'

Now in its 11th year, the Bucheon Social Economy Festa is a festival where citizens, social economy entities, and local companies come together. It is organized as a platform to share a new vision for Bucheon's environment and future, proclaim social values for community development, and communicate with citizens.

Bucheon's social economy contributes to the local economy with approximately 90 billion KRW in sales and over 3 billion KRW annually reinvested in the community. Various social economy entities such as social enterprises, village enterprises, cooperatives, self-support enterprises, fair trade organizations, consumer cooperatives, and innovative startups will participate in this event.

The event will begin with a citizen value proclamation ceremony in the air dome, followed by jazz quartet, folk performances, and musical shows. DJ Jisoo, active on the radio platform 'Seoul Community Radio,' will also perform an EDM (Electronic Dance Music) show.

Additionally, corporate collaboration programs such as investment classes and priority purchase classes will be held, along with citizen participation programs including safety experiences with the Bucheon Fire Station, making flowerpots using coffee grounds, and creating bottle cap keyrings. Booths where visitors can experience various products and services from local companies will also be operated.

A Bucheon City official stated, "We hope that through this event, citizens will experience the diverse activities of the social economy and companies and participate in various programs for community development."
