Seoul City Approves Revised Maintenance Plan
519 Apartment Units and 54 Officetel Rooms
A 37-story residential complex will be built in the vicinity of Namsung Station on Subway Line 7.
On the 16th, Seoul City held the 14th Urban Planning Committee meeting and announced on the 17th that it had approved the amendment of the "Designation of the Station Area Revitalization Project Urban Maintenance-type Redevelopment Maintenance District and Maintenance Plan Decision for 252-15 Sadang-dong, Dongjak-gu."
The site is a low-rise residential area surrounded by apartment complexes, close to Namsung Station.
With this maintenance plan decision, a mixed-use development will be constructed in the area, consisting of a residential complex building with 6 basement floors and 37 above-ground floors. It will include 519 apartment units, 54 officetel rooms, neighborhood commercial facilities, and cultural facilities.
Along Sadang-ro, public and open spaces will be arranged to create a pedestrian passage connecting Namsung Station and Isu Station. Additionally, to improve accessibility, an underground connecting passage linking Namsung Station and a sunken plaza (an underground space allowing sunlight) within the complex, as well as a new subway entrance, will be constructed. A global experience center and an English library will be introduced as local necessary facilities. The location of nearby schools and the distribution of facilities within Dongjak-gu were taken into consideration.
A Seoul City official stated, "With this decision, the area around the site will be reborn as a support hub for the Namsung Station living zone," adding, "It is expected to bring new vitality to the commercial district along Sadang-ro as well."
