On the 22nd at the district office new building entrance, various events including Fair Trade quiz and giveaways held
From October 12 to 25, group programs operated throughout Guro-gu during the campaign period
Guro-gu will hold the ‘2024 6th Fair Fortnight’ event at the entrance of the new building of the district office on the 22nd.
Fortnight, which started in the UK in 1997, means ‘two weeks (fourteen nights)’ and is a fair trade campaign involving community participation.
Since 2019, Guro-gu has been hosting the Fortnight event annually to reflect on and promote the meaning of fair trade while pursuing re-certification as a Fair Trade City.
This event is supported by Guro-gu and jointly hosted by the Guro Fair Trade Council and the Guro Social Economy Integrated Support Center.
From 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the 22nd, various programs such as exhibitions and experiences of fair trade products, quizzes, and giveaways of fair trade items (drip bag coffee, mini dark chocolate, bananas, etc.) will be held at the entrance of the new district office building. Any residents and employees visiting the district office can participate.
The head of the Employment Support Division said, “Through this campaign, we are continuously striving to naturally expose residents to fair trade products and raise awareness about fair trade. Thanks to the interest and efforts of many, Guro-gu has been re-certified as a Fair Trade City, and we will continue to do our best to practice fair trade activities.”
Additionally, from October 12 to 25, various organizations will operate diverse fair trade programs throughout Guro-gu over two weeks.
