Appointment of Jugwanseong as Secretary for Civil Society 1 at the Presidential Office

The Presidential Office announced on the 16th that Senior Administrative Officer Joo Gwan-seong has been promoted and appointed as Secretary for Civil Society 1.

Secretary Joo, a former parliamentary aide, has worked since President Yoon's presidential campaign.

He previously worked as the head of the Personnel Team in the General Affairs Secretary Office before being promoted to Secretary for Civil Society 1.

The Secretary for Civil Society 1 in the Office of the Senior Secretary for Civil Society is responsible for statutory organizations and the civil society sector.

The predecessor, former Secretary for Civil Society 1 Choi Seung-jun, reportedly resigned at the end of August. Former Secretary Choi is a relative on President Yoon's maternal side.

Personnel changes for Secretary for Civil Society 2 are also expected soon. Secretary for Civil Society 2 Jang Soon-chil has been designated as the Second Chief of Staff to assist First Lady Kim Keon-hee's overall activities.
